Why go

Mauritius has grown tea since the 1890s, and this is the estate that still does it at scale. The factory tour is short and real; the tasting pavilion looks down over the fields to the sea. Vanilla tea is the local drink and this is where it comes from.

How to do it

Paid factory tour and tasting, mornings only for the factory. It sits on the Tea Route between Grand Bassin and the south coast, so it fits between the two rather than as a destination.
