La Vanille Nature Park
Giant Aldabra tortoises by the hundred, Nile crocodiles, an insectarium and a rainforest walk under the canopy at Rivière des Anguilles.
Why go
The tortoise enclosure is the reason to come: you walk among Aldabra giants that will outlive everyone reading this. The crocodile farm is the original business and still the loudest part. For children it is the best hour in the south.
How to do it
Paid entry, on the road inland from Souillac. Mornings are cooler and the animals move more. Feeding the tortoises is allowed at set times with park-sold leaves.
