A wide, low waterfall over columns of basalt near Souillac, reached through the cane fields. Swimmable at the bottom, and usually empty on weekdays.

The rock is the point: the falls spill over a wall of hexagonal basalt columns, the same geology as the Giant's Causeway. It is low enough to swim under and hidden enough that most coach tours skip it.
Free. The track in from Souillac is rough dirt through sugar cane; fine in a normal car in the dry season, walkable from the tarmac otherwise. Local boys sometimes offer to 'guide' or jump for tips; a polite no is fine. Water shoes help.
